“In teaching us a new visual code, photographs alter and enlarge our notions of what is worth looking at and what we have a right to observe.”

– Susan Sontag, On Photography.

On this blog I will write about the photography exhibitions I visit – mostly in London and Paris -, review some photographers’ work, and give updates on texts I publish.

I am a history of art and history of photography graduate, and looking at photographs is one of my favourite things.

About the images featured on this blog: they come from the galleries’ websites and the artists’ names are always mentioned (with the exception of my own original photos). If you see any images which you feel should not be here, please email me at erica payet @ gmail. com (no spaces), and the offending image will be promptly removed.
